On June 25, 2021, the China National Textile and Apparel Council (CNTAC) organized an appraisal meeting in Yangzhou for the project titled "R&D of Flexible Process Equipment and Application for High-Performance Bicomponent Core-Sheath Nonwoven Materials via Two-Step Method." The project was jointly undertaken by Yangzhou Atlants New Materials Co., Ltd. and Nantong University.

The attending experts listened to the report presented by the project undertakers, reviewed the appraisal documents, watched on-site videos, and inspected the manufactured products. Following inquiries and discussions, the main innovations of the project were identified as follows:

Developed specialized spinning technology for core-sheath bicomponent raw materials, and a two-step processing technology for filament air-splitting and web formation.

Developed uniform filament-splitting processing equipment and technology, resolving the technical challenge of uniformly splitting filament tows.

R&D'd and manufactured composite filament circular-mesh hot-air bonding rollers, and developed a flexible filament adaptive web-laying technology, achieving uniform web formation and isotropic characteristics of the fiber web.

The project has applied for 10 invention patents, of which 3 have been authorized, and obtained 2 software copyrights, possessing independent intellectual property rights. A wide-width, high-performance bicomponent nonwoven material production line with independent intellectual property rights has been built and achieved industrialization. The high-strength, high-thermal-stability nonwoven material series developed by the project are widely used in fields such as geotechnics, medical hygiene, filtration, and decoration. User feedback indicates that the products feature excellent performance and stable quality.
